Today was a very exciting and exhilarating day! Well that is after breakfast. As soon as we made our way into the Northern Range of Yellowstone, we saw some big horn sheep up in the mountains. I was ecstatic because I had never, in my life, seen wild big horn sheep before. One of the interesting things about this herd was that they were all female. After taking some pictures of the big horn, we kept on going further into YNP and saw many bison herds. Again, I found myself self-captivated in the scenery contrasting the big, giant bison and the amazing view of the mountains. On our way to Mammoth Hot Springs, we saw a bunch of elk on people’s yard. I found it interesting how the elk just ‘chilled’ on the lawns without a care in the world. There at Mammoth Hot Springs, we had a guest speaker, Travis Wyman. Wyman gave a presentation on the population of elk, which currently there is an estimate of 4,850 elk in Yellowstone National Park. He also mention that 50% of elk, have Brucellosis. One of the other guest speakers, was MacNeil Lyons, a professional wildlife photographer. Lyons’s presentation was very interesting and fascinating, the way he explained how he took the pictures just amazes you. The pictures that he has taken, are very well-defined and captures, not just the scenery, but the animal in action as well. All the pictures that he displayed were very good. Overall, even though it was a very long day, it was incredibly amazing. Can’t wait what tomorrow will bring!
