The Mountains are Calling and so I must go

Today was sadly our last day in the park and was dedicated completely to sight seeing.  We left the motel at 8a.m this morning and headed into the park.  It was extremely overcast this morning and it even rained off and on until about 11. Right when we got into the park we saw a kill in one of the creeks.  It was hard to tell what exactly had been killed, but there were birds and two coyotes at the kill site.  Our first stop was the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  This place is probably one of my favorite spots in the entire park.  We then visited Gibbon Falls before we headed out to the geyser basins.  At the Norris Geyser basin we witnessed what Shauna would have classified as a “stupid tourist”.  A man walked out to the edge of a hot spring trying to get a good shot with his phone.  I honestly couldn’t believe how stupid he was.  We showed up at Old Faithful ten minutes before it was supposed to erupt. It was perfect timing.  We then headed to the Midway Geyser Basin.  We ended our at the Mammoth Hot Springs terraces.  It was super pretty since the sun was just starting to set.  We saw a lot of animals, some beautiful scenery, and had a lot of great photo opportunities on this trip.  It was a great time and I can’t wait to come back here someday.
