This was truly a very exciting fist day in Yellowstone! We had a early start to the morning, we were up and out the door by 6:30 AM. We entered the park and at our fist stop looking over Lamar Valley we saw a Red fox, Elk, Bison, Pronghorn, Whitetail deer and a Coyote. We were also able to hear Elk bugling in the distance. It was my first time hearing an Elk bugle, it is truly a sound worth hearing!
Coming up to our second stop in Lamar Valley we saw a large group of people along side the road with spotting scope set up on tripods, usually a good sign. We pulled in, to shortly find out there’s a pack five wolf’s! They were part of the Prospect Peak pack, showing that they were faraway from their territory. After watching them for awhile with spotting scopes, all of a sudden I saw them point their noses too the sky and began to howl! Another item to check off the bucket list! I was also fortunate to see a new bird species called the Grey Jay, imitating the sound of a Red Tailed Hawk! It was a great fist day in the park, I cant wait to see what day 2 brings!!
