We left the motel at 6:00 am this morning and drove an hour and half to get to Lamar Valley. Once we got to the valley we had an unsuccessful search for wolves which worked out since we were able to find them yesterday. After we searched for wolves we searched for Mountain goats which I was able to find one hidden in the snow surprisingly. After we got our pictures of the goat we made a mile hike out to an old, supposed wolf kill. On the way to and from the elk skull we had a massive snowball fight with everyone except for the teacher and Tour Guide Mike.
After seeing goats we headed out to a historic piece of the park and went and looked at the acclimation pen. The acclimation pens were used for the initial release of the wolves back into the park in 1995. The pen was unique to see and be in the same area that the most famous wolves from the park were once kept before release. After looking at the pen we came back to Gardiner and listened to Nathan talk about his experience with wolves and the overall effect it has had on the local area.
