Day 3 was all about climate change. We went out first thing in the morning to look for Pika who are great evidence for climate change. Pika are like squirrel sized rabbits that are very sensitive to warmer temperatures. they live in the fallen rocks near cliffs on high mountains and when it warms up they cant handle the heat. We saw 3 of them and they are so cute. Next we went out and saw the Junction Butte pack for the second time this week. They were feeding on a fresh carcass and it was interesting seeing their behavior. We then went on a long hike to the top of Junction Butte and to the confluence of the Lamar and Yellowstone rivers. Again there were lots of bison and elk but no bears. Tomorrow we go out to see the geysers and thermal features of the park.
