Day one we went to the Lamar valley. we saw plenty of bison and elk. we hiked to Slough creek to look and how the beavers have changed the ecosystem. we also hiked to crystal creek to Pika habitat to do a survey. the survey was doing a transect of the rocky habitat. we looked for pika scat and hay piles. to close of the day we had a presentation on climate change. it was interesting to see the effects of the greater yellowstone ecosystem and our home of Valley City. the interesting part is than valley city is getting more precipitation than average and Yellowstone is becoming more dry.
