Today was our last day with Wolf Trackers, and it was spent well. We saw another grizzly right away in the morning, but didn’t stay long in that spot until moving on. Landon spotted a black bear on the side of the road as we were driving, and we were the firsts to see it. Once people saw us pulled over with our binoculars and phones out, we attracted a pretty big crowd. After some more driving we finally heard reports of a black wolf nearby. We weren’t able to find that wolf, but while we were looking for him two grey wolves came trotting out of the trees and across the bottom of the valley. They crossed the river and ducked into some trees. Before too long, a herd of bison came running out of the trees. I don’t think the wolves were hunting, I think it was just a case of wrong place, wrong time. Then five more wolves came across from the opposite direction of the other two. We watched them for a while and then headed back for Gardiner. From there we called it a day and took some time to do some souvenir shopping. Tomorrow we’ll go exploring without our guides and will see Old Faithful and some other geysers.
