Day 5 – Fourth Day in Park

Today started out a little snowy. We were on our way to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. We got about half-way there and it started dumping snow. As a person who loves the snow it was cool to see, but it sucked not being able to see everything. We then turned around and headed back toward Mammoth. We stayed in Mammoth for about an hour before we decided to go back and see if we could make it to Old Faithful. As someone who has never seen Old Faithful, I was happy we decided to go back. On the way there we ended up driving past two wolves feeding on a carcass about 50-75 yards off the roadside. It was spectacular to see the wolves that close to the roadway and especially eating on a carcass. Old Faithful was fun watching erupt, you could say. After Old Faithful we went to Grand Prismatic. Once we were done hiking to over watch there we headed back to the vehicle. Our final stop for the day was the mud pots. They were interesting to see. Never once did I think I’d ever watch mud bubble like water does when its boiling.
