Final Reflection

I think this trip to Yellowstone was one to remember. I learned so much and had lots of fun. I enjoyed seeing all the geothermal features for my first time. My favorite geothermal area was grand prismatic from the look out point. The fountain paint pots were cool too. There were three geysers going off at the same time the whole time we were there. My favorite part over all was seeing all the wildlife, lots of which I have never seen before. The wolves were my favorite part. It was so cool to watch their behavior, and a few of them were so close. I would love to learn more about the radio telemetry and what all goes into wolf watching. It liked how they didn’t just teach us about the wolves, but also how the ecosystem has changed over time with different population increasing and decreasing. There is research being done out there on so many different things. It would be interesting to see all the studies that are being done. Learning about Yellowstone before hand, and having guides to show us all the things that most people wouldn’t think twice about gave me a whole new appreciation for everything we saw there. Plus it gave me a chance to get to know a lot of my class mates better, which you do not really get to do when you only see them in class. I would highly recommend taking Yellowstone ecology whether you have been there before or not. There are still a lot of new things you could learn.
