Yesterday around 8:30pm we arrived in Gardiner MT. We got settled in and went to bed fairly early so we could get up early the next day. Today we got on the road around 7am and started our adventure in the Lamar Valley, where we saw the Junction Butte Pack. 9 out of the 11 wolves were spotted. We then took our adventure back to Mammoth Springs and met with Travis Wyman one of the parks biologist. We discussed elk management and bear management within Yellowstone National Park. With the topic of bears on our agenda we took a hike to one of the garage dumps where crowds would gather to watch bears feed on piles of garbage. The scenery was the best part of the day, at least I thought. Our group got up to almost 9,000 ft above sea level. Overall a great first day at the park, with great weather. Cant wait to see what day 2 brings for us.
