Day 2 started out with some radio problems and delayed us on our search for wolves. We were able to find a grizzly bear and see it in the spotting scope well over a mile away. We also were able to see wolves off in the distance at the Lamar river confluence. We heard he story of the Lamar Canyon wolves told by an expert in the field. It was surprising to see mountain goats during our lunch break. We hiked down to the river base and found out the water was much more cold than expected.
Jim Halfpenny gave a great presentation on wolverines and dispelled a lot of myths, I was surprised to hear that the largest wolverine ever weighed was only 37 pounds and sometimes they are able to take down a bull moose.
