Had a really great first day. We started out spotting a grizzly and a wolf in the first spot we stopped at in Lamar Valley. The wolf was difficult to view as it was laying down in some cover. In that same spot we seen a host of other wildlife such as bison, fox, antelope, bighorn sheep, and geese. From there we moved on and found some mountain goats and hiked to an old bison carcass. In the area of the bison carcass we also found around 8 elk sheds. From there we went back to the vans and on the way back to Mammoth we found 2 black bears and 2 grizzlies. The Wolf trackers are really great people and are really knowledgeable of the park and the wildlife alike. Tomorrow we plan on watching over a freshly killed carcass in hopes of seeing some more predators.
