Day three started out with no leads on wolves and we set our sights on pikas. We learned about how climate change was effecting the pikas and that they can not live more than four hours if the temperature goes over 80. Everybody got back to the bus after viewing the fragile rodents, except Lex and Lane. As time went on the people on the bus had to predict what was causing their tardiness, the consensus was an army of Pikas took them down and carried them off. Once they returned to the bus nobody was more relieved than Shawna because she did not want to do paperwork.
Later we went on a trail that was normally reserved for cross country skiing, Shawna ran through a meadow of timothy grass and talked about how hibernating bears survive.
