Hiking through day 3

During the third day of adventures, we did a lot of fun filled activities. We started off by going through the park and once more saw the Prospect Pack in the Lamar Valley area. All of us kept close eye out for a grizzly but sadly saw nothing through out the day. We watched the wolves for about an hour then we had a history lesion about the introduction of wolves. Rick gave us a very detailed talk about the Cinderella wolf and her evil sister. we then set out for hour 4 hour hike through the Lamar Valley.

We started of by hitting the meadow then walked near the river until we got to where the two rivers connect. All of us ate lunch, but something pretty exciting happened. Yet another day of seeing a coyote. As we were eating we saw 3 wolves eating at a animal in the middle of the river. We sat and watched for about 15 min until the coyotes disappeared. We then hiked some more then sat and took another break while Shawna talked about the Native Americans that use to live in the Yellowstone area.

After all of this excitement we went to the boiling river, which was my favorite part of the day. We stayed for about and hour and sat as the waters changed from very cold, to extremely hot. I think it was pretty neat that something like this can naturally happen.

Tomorrow should be another fun filled day, with lots of geysers and other popular Yellowstone areas. Cant wait to see what nature has to offer for us tomorrow!
