Woke up to a beautiful morning at about 7:15 watching elk and pronghorn forage. We arrived at Mammoth Springs and after our meeting about elk management, we saw a few cow elk with a lone bull around 3 years old. Our group headed to the Mammoth Hot Springs and looked at the ph levels in the water and the acidity was neutral. After talking about geology, and we ended up driving through Norris and missed our lunch spot. @cuddlefish6969 took the ph levels of the water by the Roaring Mountains and the acidity of the water was 3. Next we went to Canyon and we mainly talked about the four different species of pine. Then we hiked up the canyon to see the overlook of the Yellowstone River.
After that our tour guide helped me seek out an osprey nest, while getting bugged by all the foreigners. Then on our or way back to Gardiner we saw plenty of elk with multiple nice bulls, and some pronghorn antelope. The two couples gave a good speech about climate change and had neat experiences with bears.
Sincerely,
Josh Manzke
