Today we started off with the plan of having a wolf day. As much of the days have turned out this week, whatever the plan was, something else always happened. We left the hotel at 6 and our first stop was the Lamar Valley to try to catch the the wolves at their rendezvous point. We ended up not being able to spot any of the wolves there but actually spotted a grizzly! None of us thought we were going to spot one on the trip because of how elusive the bears often are.
After spotting the Grizzly we headed down the road when our tour guide seen a ton of cars and decided to pull over and see what all the commotion was about. Turns out a group of the Junction Butte pack had bedded down about a mile off the road next to a clump of aspen trees. They were very hard to find and once we did find them, you could only periodically see the head of a wolf pop up out of the sage brush. Last on our list was a nice hike. We hiked up to the Rose Creek acclimation pen where the wolves were first introduced to Yellowstone, which like last year, was a lot of fun and we got to see many great views.

How many wolves did you see bedded down in the aspens?
I personally only saw 1 of them, but the people that had seen the wolves before we got there said there was 2.
