Today was day four of our trip in Yellowstone. We started our day off with leaving the hotel at 7 am and headed to the Lamar Valley to see if we could see some wolves. We spent quite a bit of time driving from spot to spot in the valley trying to catch up with the wolf watchers and trying to guess where the wolves might be heading to. We stopped at one spot and set up some spotting scopes, but had no luck. As we were heading to our next activity we ended up coming across the wolf watchers again and actually got to see some of the Junction Butte pack crossing over the top of the mountain. This was the high light of my day! Wolves were one of the main things I wanted to see while here in Yellowstone. During the after noon we went to the wolf kill site. That was also pretty neat, the elk that was killed was a big guy. After that, we went to 09’s wolf den. Neither of these were far hikes, but it was nice to get out of the bus and walk around. A lot of today was spent in the bus which was kind of boring. We ended our day with a talk by Lava creek.
Sincerely,
