Today was the first day we went into the park at 8, we stopped in Mammoth Springs and Travis Wynman. He talked to us about elk and their impact on the Yellowstone ecosystem and a brief history of them and how the park managed them in the past. In Mammoth Hot Springs we saw a small group of elk as we left Mammoth to go to the top of the hot springs. Our tour guide mike took us to eat at a picnic spot to eat lunch by Norris then headed to Canyon to look at the waterfall and the canyon. We arrived back at Gardiner at around 5 to eat and relax after a long day. We attended a climate change talk at 8 p.m. with another mike that was really interesting, and even got some fun back country camping and bear stories from them. Tomorrow we are leaving to Hayden Valley at 6 a.m. to try to see the wolves and other wildlife.
