Tanner Day 4

Today was pretty exciting, we started the day off at 6:30 today eating breakfast at the hotel restaurant and got on the road about at 8.  We headed for Lamar Valley to look for some wolves.  We heard there was the 8 Mile Pack so after awhile of driving around and found Doug Mclaughlin we looked for some of the wolves with him and Doug told us some good stories and good information about the wolves.  After searching for the 8 Mile pack we heard on the radio that the Junction Butte Pack was spotted so we drove over to the pull-off and got there just to see them run over a hill.  After eating lunch we went on a hike to see a cool carcass of a big elk with two drop tines that was really cool, we then we to the den of number 09 wolf, that was interesting because of the history that followed that wolf and the den.  We ended the day with tour mike by checking for pikas and hearing a essay by Aldo Leopold.  Tomorrow we plan to leave at 8:30 to go around the park with Gary to see the various geysers and other hikes.
