Today on our first day exploring The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem we covered a lot of ground and saw a lot of wildlife. in the morning we stopped at black butte and got out to look and listen for the wolves and here is where we saw our first herd of bison along with a red fox, whitetail deer getting chased by a coyote, and antelope with no luck on the wolves. After here we moved on to the Lamar Valley where we did find 8 of the Prospect Peak pack. We found a nice bald eagle perched in a tree along a river bank. while we visited wolf #9’s den from years ago and around the den a little ways away there was an old elk head and on the tree next to it was a grey jay bird that mimicked a sound of a red-tailed hawk. Once we finished with that hike we made our way to mammoth hot springs to listen to Travis Wyman talk about the elk and bears within the park and their distribution. At the end of the night we finished with a presentation by MacNeil on the photography possibilities here in the park
