Larissa : Yellowstone Day 1

We arrived at our hotel last night around 7:30 pm it was a cloudy and a gray drive. Today we got an early start at 7 am. The day consisted of spending a lot of time in the bus driving from place to place and seeing the beauty. We were able to stop and see the Junction Butte pack out of 11 wolves 9 were able to be seen. We also saw bison, elk, deer and pronghorn. Unfortunately we did not see a bear like I had hoped we would. We also took a small hike today just a mile.  Tomorrow is going to be a long day we start at 6 am to go wolf watching again and hopefully all 11 will be present. We also will be out in the field more. Hope everyone is enjoying the snow.

    Hey Larissa,

Hope you are having fun! What things did you see on your drive that stood out to you? I hope you enjoy continuing to study the wildlife and habit of Yellowstone. I look forward to reading more of your blogs!

Hi Larissa! I hope you are enjoying your time spent there. I read your report from Day 1 and it seems like you got to do some pretty cool stuff! I was just wondering which animal you found the most fascinating to get to observe out of all the different ones you got to see? Also, was it your first time seeing each of those animals in person or have you done something like this before?

It is amazing. It was amazing to see the wolves and elk as I have never seen those before. I have been to a bison park in Devils lake which is about 2 hours from Valley City.
